This workshop includes more than 20 vital skills in AI-assisted smart literature search and scientific writing. Participants learn how to use effective search queries and prompts, identify research gaps, and select high-impact references with precision. It also trains them to use AI in outlining and developing scientific papers section by section, refining drafts into clear, coherent content. Additional modules cover AI-assisted visualization, journal selection, and responding to reviewers. Practical exercises ensure participants gain the taught skills across all stages of academic writing. One other unique feature of the course is that it includes applications from real research projects mentored by Prof. Eyad Qunaibi and Ayman Al-Qaaneh.
Target Audience:
All medical and paramedical professionals and students interested in research, especially in scientific writing.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, participants will be proficient in:
1. Apply AI-assisted techniques for precise literature search and reference selection.
2. Identify research gaps and formulate relevant, feasible questions.
3. Outline and develop scientific papers section by section using AI tools, refining drafts into clear, coherent, publication‑ready content.
4. Be knowledgeable about key AI platforms for scientific writing and compare their strengths and limitations.
5. Identify ethical issues, avoid AI hallucinations, and guide AI intellectually rather than delegating full writing tasks.
6. Utilize AI for visualization, journal targeting, and responding to reviewers, as well as other writing stages such as IRB letters and research proposals.
